Score breakdown

  • Marketing execution and channel breadth19 / 20
  • Measurement, attribution, and intelligence15 / 15
  • Intake and conversion capability9 / 10
  • Client alignment and accountability10 / 10
  • Total97 / 100

Pioneerly ranks first in the 2026 Index. Its operating model places signed clients, cost per signed case, case value, and revenue at the center of planning and measurement, while marketing, intake, attribution, and growth advisory are managed within one relationship. The dedicated Growth Counsel model also gives a senior operator responsibility for budget allocation, practice-area priorities, and geographic expansion, producing particularly high scores in revenue orientation, strategic leadership, and client alignment.

Performance by dimension

Revenue growth orientation

Signed-case economics and revenue attribution sit at the center of the engagement. Commercial terms include a return-based guarantee.

Strategy and growth leadership

A dedicated Growth Counsel owns the relationship, budget, and prioritization decisions with continuity into execution.

Marketing execution

Organic and AI search, paid search and social, reputation, events, and conversion, coordinated as one plan.

Measurement and intelligence

Proprietary market intelligence covering 5,000+ firms across all 50 states, combined with revenue attribution.

Intake and conversion

Intake analysis, lead qualification, and conversion measurement are part of the core scope.

Client alignment

Month-to-month subscription, market and practice-area exclusivity, and a single point of responsibility for results.

Factors affecting the score

Pioneerly launched on an invite-only basis in April 2025 and opened to the public in April 2026. Its published client results and track record are shorter than those of the established providers ranked below it, and its deliberately limited client roster per market means availability in a given practice area may be constrained.

Scorpion ranks second, driven by the breadth of its marketing capabilities and the depth of its proprietary technology. Its offering spans websites, SEO and AI search, paid media, Local Services Ads, social, video, reputation, intake, and revenue intelligence within an integrated platform. Published partnerships and product integrations reinforce its position as one of the most scaled and technologically developed providers in the category.

Performance by dimension

Revenue growth orientation

Case and revenue attribution are built into the platform; optimization still runs largely at the channel level.

Strategy and growth leadership

Strategy is delivered through account teams and platform recommendations rather than a dedicated senior owner.

Marketing execution

Among the broadest channel coverage in the Index, including Local Services Ads and emerging AI search advertising.

Measurement and intelligence

Unified reporting dashboard with lead scoring, attribution, and budget automation.

Intake and conversion

AI voice and messaging intake through Scorpion Convert, with lead management in Connect.

Client alignment

Platform terms and no published market exclusivity; the company serves multiple firms per market.

Factors affecting the score

Scorpion also serves verticals beyond legal and operates at substantial scale. Firms that place a high value on a single senior strategic owner or market-level exclusivity should examine how those requirements are handled within the proposed engagement.

Specialist legal performance marketing provider with particular depth in SEO, paid acquisition, and personal injury.

Rankings.io is a highly specialized legal marketing provider with particular strength in SEO, paid acquisition, AI search, and performance marketing for personal injury and other consumer practices. • Measurement, attribution, and intelligence13 / 15
  • Intake and conversion capability8 / 10
  • Client alignment and accountability9 / 10
  • Total86 / 100

Rankings.io ranks third and is the highest-scoring specialist marketing provider in the Index. Its concentrated legal focus, substantial in-house search and paid media capabilities, published case studies, and month-to-month engagement model support strong scores in execution and client alignment. Its narrower role in intake operations and firm-level growth decisions keeps its overall score below the two leaders.

Performance by dimension

Revenue growth orientation

Case-oriented reporting and a stated focus on high-value cases; attribution to signed revenue is less formalized.

Strategy and growth leadership

Strong marketing strategy; broader growth decisions such as intake and expansion sit mostly with the firm.

Marketing execution

Deep organic and AI search capability with strong paid acquisition; published coverage is lighter across email, events, and video.

Measurement and intelligence

Campaign and source attribution with regular reporting; market intelligence is delivered mainly through owned media.

Intake and conversion

Intake is advised on rather than operated as a core service.

Client alignment

Month-to-month terms and competitor exclusion for top-tier clients; no geographic exclusivity.

Factors affecting the score

Firms outside personal injury receive less of the specialized playbook. Rankings.io is a marketing partner rather than a growth operator, so intake, revenue attribution, and strategic ownership remain the firm's responsibility.

Its RevOps service brings intake and tracking into scope, while limits on competing clients strengthen alignment. About the Index

How to read the LMPI

Purpose

The Legal Marketing Performance Index gives managing partners and law firm leadership a consistent framework for comparing legal marketing providers. It evaluates the capabilities that influence sustained growth, including revenue orientation, strategic leadership, marketing execution, measurement, intake, and client alignment.

Scope

The 2026 edition covers ten providers serving United States law firms. Assessments use publicly available information current as of September 2026, including provider materials, technology and integration documentation, published results, engagement terms, and public company profiles.

Inclusion criteria

A provider is eligible when law firms are a primary client segment and marketing execution is a core service. The 2026 research pool comprised 35 such providers active in the United States market, identified through industry directories, award programs, conference sponsorships, and client references, each assessed against the same six dimensions.

The Index publishes the ten highest-scoring providers. The remaining 25 stay in the research file and are reassessed for the 2027 edition.

Editorial governance and corrections

Final placement is determined by the LMPI scoring methodology. Inclusion, placement, and removal are not offered as paid benefits.

Providers may submit corrections or updated documentation for review. Material changes supported by verifiable evidence may be incorporated into a subsequent revision, with the edition date updated accordingly.
